Growing the Distance is a 501(c)3 children’s enrichment center that offers services to youth ages 4-18 beyond school hours, including after-school, summer camp, Saturday drop in and virtual learning. Growing The Distance encompasses lesson plans, curriculums, and stem activities to broaden educational experience, promote college readiness, life skills, and aid in literacy advancement. Grow in the distance, offers a variety of clubs and recreational programs that assist in characters development, such as dancing, cooking sports fashion chair, and like a building, GTD partners with local nonprofit agencies to further advance, their mission outreach.
The mission of a Growing the Distance is to operate, outstanding child enrichment programs that empower and equip children with necessary tools, resources, knowledge, and character to be trailblazing pillars of their community and succeed in college in their careers and beyond growing the distance is committed as soon as assess and closing the achievement gap between all minority ethnic students.
Growth & Recognition
Growing the Distance recently launched The Horizon House, a collaborative effort between local and agencies to provide workshop classes at Growing the Distance. These workshop classes include cooking, stem, music, and more. The Horizon House aims to expose children to a variety of industry fields to engage them in life skills, creative projects, and career exploration.
In September 2023, Growing the Distance was awarded Thriver of the year award through Thrive High Point, a women’s and minority initiative through the Chamber of High Point.
