The North Carolina Center for Afterschool Programs is excited to invite you and Out-of-School Time professionals from all across our state to Synergy 2024!!
The annual Synergy Conference brings together afterschool providers, informal educators, community stakeholders, students, business leaders, politicians, and others from all around North Carolina to focus on afterschool and summer learning. As always we will have an exciting line-up of engaging workshops and vibrant speakers, unique networking opportunities, special recognition and awards, and meaningful professional development.
This year’s theme is Everyday Influencers! This theme underscores the incredible influence that afterschool professionals and programs have on children, youth, families, and communities. It emphasizes the ways in which afterschool providers and programs shape students’ physical and emotional safety, social-emotional learning, academic learning and recovery, and growth and development.

Registering for Synergy also qualifies you for a FREE membership with the National Afterschool Association (NAA)!!
NC CAP is the state affiliate for the National Afterschool Association (NAA). If you’re not a current paid NAA member and live in North Carolina, our state affiliation and a Synergy Conference registration make you eligible for a free NAA membership (typically $25-150 when purchased directly through NAA).
Being a member of NAA allows you to be part of the larger afterschool community and includes access to news about afterschool and educational trends, professional development, useful tools and resources, and a variety of discounts for valuable services. Brian Randall | Sr. Program Manager
NC Center for Resilience & Learning
Brian Randall is the Western NC Sr. Program Manager for the NC Center for Resilience & Learning. He spent 7 years in the classroom as a middle school and elementary school teacher. Brian was a Program Director for the Asheville City Schools Foundation’s In Real Life afterschool network for five years and helped Wilson Foundation YMCA design and program for teens across the county. He works with the Young Marine program to design outdoor experience programs for teens.
